WoW Leatherworking Guide

This is a World of Warcraft Leatherworking Guide that will help you grind from level 1 to 300, but you will need a lot of gold, here is the best way to get enough. If you want to learn more than just how to level leatherworking, check out this guide.

Leatherworking is a very fun profession to max out. You can do it as you power level your character to 60 without taking a break. Most of the ingredients for leatherworking are from skinning beasts. You can sell a lot of the items you will make later on, to get an idea of what those could be check out How to Make Money in World of Warcraft.

Here are the minimal and expected requirements for power leveling Leatherworking to 300. There are other ways to to get to 300 of course, but we are only interested in the fastest. Here are the materials minimum & recommended:

  • Leatherworking Leather
  • 370-400 Light
  • 590-610 Medium
  • 390-410 Heavy
  • 670-700 Thick
  • 340-350 Rugged
  • Leatherworking Misc Materials
  • 8-10 Cured Heavy Hide
  • 5 Iron Buckles
  • 115-125 Turtle Scales
  • 4 Wildvine
  • 2-4 Cured Thick Hides
  • You will want an extra 10 Thick Leather and 10 wildvines for quests later on.

You'll probably want to send all these materials to the character you wish to level from an Auction House alt that grabbed them off the AH (Since you probably don't have the invetory space). I always recommend buying large quantities of materials over a long period of time to save gold. Once you've got them follow the following steps. When it says "You should be level X" if you're not level X repeat the previous step until you are. If you have the recommended materials you shouldn't need to return to the Auction House for more.
